Due to the number of independent therapists in the office, when you drive to the back please park directly behind my car, blocking me in OR if you have a longer/taller vehicle, you may park alongside the building, opposite the fence. If there is a “traffic Jam” in the back, you may also park on the south side of Justin (across the street)

Becky Clark, LMT Bio

 

Becky was born and raised in Austin, where she was active in music and sports from an early age. She attended the University of Texas – Austin, where she majored in Music Education, was in Longhorn Band, and on the Texas Crew (rowing team).  After graduation, she became a band director in central Texas for 8 years and after a period of time, decided that another 20+ years of teaching was not what she wanted to do. Having a background in both Music and Athletics, she opted to enter into massage and bodywork.  In the year 2000, she went to school at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School to become a structural bodyworker. At that time, it was the only one that provided a curriculum for more than the basic 300 hour Swedish massage class required to be licensed in Texas and that was necessary to gain the structural bodywork background that was essential to her interest. 

Since Becky had been in athletics since the age of 5 (Soccer, gymnastics, judo, basketball, volleyball, softball, karate, kickball, swimming, Rowing), she had developed many structural problems, which resulted in being sidelined from rowing competitively in her late 20’s: Sacroiliac joint dysfunction, tendinitis (tennis elbow), and a twisted sacrum, all contributed to her desire to “fix” the problems where they began and not just try to manage the symptoms with OTC drugs.  This is her driving force: to become the therapist she wanted to go to, 20 years ago.

She approaches each session holistically by examining a client’s natural posture to see which muscles are pulling the body out of balance and creating the pain which knocks people out of their chosen activities. She then addresses the issue by working to neutralize the uneven pull, thus balancing the body: side to side, front to back, and diagonal to diagonal, and feet to Occiput.

Her goal with each session is to help YOU feel better in your body so you can excel in your chosen activities, whether you just spend too much time in front of a computer or you are a competitive/weekend athlete.

This shows my personal progression.  I provide neuromuscular re-education to clients so they can straighten up too.
